Blue Lemurian Aquatine is mined in Argentina. In fact, the name Blue Lemurian Aquatine is a registered name by Robert Simmons, a well-known author in the field of healing crystal studies. The stone has several other names, including Argentine Blue Calcite, Aquatic Calcite (or Aqua Calcite), Argentine Blue Onyx, Lemurian Onyx, Lemurian Blue Calcite, Oceanic Calcite and others. In addition to the registered and “scene” name, we know it as Blue Onyx. Although blue onyx is found in many parts of the world, stones found in Argentina are generally considered to be the Lemurian aqua onyx variety.

The name has its roots in Lemuria, an ancient legendary continent believed to have existed in the Indian Ocean. If you are familiar with the legends of Atlantis and Mu, Lemuria is one of these mythological continents that are said to have flourished in the distant past. According to these myths, Lemuria was a highly advanced civilisation and considered the cradle of humanity. However, a cataclysm occurred that caused it to sink into the ocean depths.

Blue Lemurian Aquatine is a beautiful stone with aqua green and blue colours, reminiscent of the relaxing shades of the ocean. The stone itself resonates with water. It is said to carry the secret wisdom of the ancients, ready to impart its knowledge to those who hold this crystal in their hands.

It is a powerful calming stone, making it very useful in meditation, very effective for connecting with the higher self, helping to remember dreams more vividly and inducing lucid dreaming. In times of stress and spiritual crisis, this crystal can also be used to connect with the higher realms and ask for the protection of one’s spirit guide.

Blue Lemurian Aquatine is used by many for its metaphysical properties, such as the ability to communicate with spirit guides in the higher realms and to enhance intuition.
